Ok, so college might not be rocket science, especially if you were a straight A student in high school. But sometimes, we can let things get in our way. Also, the new world of a college campus offers us some pretty distinct distractions, making it harder than ever to score the grades you deserve. So, what does all of this add up to? Simply that there are just some things you NEED to do in order to succeed, and there are some things that you do NOT need to do. Perhaps this list of tips will help you keep it together through your new college experience… enjoy.
First, go to class. No, you will not get detention for skipping class, but your grades can take a hit! Skipping classes will only hurt you in the long run.
Second, meet people. You need friends, or you will get lonely and bored of college in no-time. Besides, part of getting out on your own is meeting new people and cultivation new relationships, right?
Third, try to arrange your classes in groups. If you put your classes back to back, you are much less likely to skip than if they are spread out. Putting them back to back saves time, and it saves you from having to sacrifice hours of your day waiting for your last class to start.
Fourth, get to know people in charge. This means RA’s, hall directors, members of the student government, professors, and even janitors! Getting to know these people can really help you, especially since they are the ones holding all the cards!
And finally, take care of yourself. Make sure that you eat enough, and make sure that you are eating right. Also, make sure that you are exercising at least in some way, and do not drink alcohol in excess! In fact, not drinking alcohol at all is the best idea.
